Take Care of Your Needs – FIRST!

For many of us, the saddest prospect would be to never experience the “love of a lifetime”, a relationship with that special someone who absolutely adored and cared for us just as we are.  Equally important-if not more so-is the potential tragedy of never coming to terms with ‘fully loving yourself’ just the way you are.

We’ve all read or heard it said that no one else can ever love you more than you truly love yourself.  Yet it’s so easy to deceive yourself, to act as if you’re focused and satisfied when you really aren’t, to try to persuade yourself and the world to think you’re someone you’re not.  You end up actually deceiving those who do want to get close.

It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.  If you don’t believe that others will accept your true Self, then you’re not giving them the person you really are.  And if you don’t give others who you really are, there’s no way they can every truly love and accept the real you.

The most important and helpful way to cut through this self-deception and imbalance in power is to take a detached but compassionate look at the roles you play in your life.

  • Are you effective going after the things you really want?
  • Do good people and situations seem to come your way?
  • Do things generally work out?
  • Are you being genuine?
  • Who are you attracting and why?

Try to answer these questions as honestly as you can.

It’s important to get to a place where you can accept yourself even if others don’t.  Only then can you be ready to move on when you need to, and to accept positive occurrences without questioning whether they’re “too good to be true.”  YOU are worth it and YOU deserve the BEST!

If you are alone, take some time to relax.  Take some time to just ‘BE‘ and enjoy YOUR company
